Propelled by a conviction that art can inspire change, the gallery is dedicated to artistic practices with conceptional and intellectual rigor, which challenge our perception of the world. Over 30 years in the business, Wilde continues to support the evolving practices of established and emerging artists. Wilde paradoxically is a young gallery that has a long history. Founded in Geneva in 1990, Galerie Guy Bärtschi was renamed for the first time in 2014, following the departure of its founder, and again in 2019, for the name Wilde. In 2019, Wilde inaugurated a second gallery space in the center of Basel, with a unique interior, remodeled by French architect Andrée Putman. In 2020, Wilde completed its setup by opening a private showroom in Zurich, dedicated to the display of secondary market works.
