Artiste suisse né en 1960, Christian Robert-Tissot fait du langage son terrain d’exploration depuis plus de trente ans. Ses mots ne se contentent pas d’être lus : ils sont peints, mis en forme jusqu’à ce que la lettre et la surface ne fassent plus qu’un. Police, couleur, composition, chaque choix formel participe du sens sans jamais le refermer tout à fait. Une économie de moyens apparente qui cache une attention minutieuse à ce que les mots font et à ce qu’ils ne disent pas.
Swiss artist Christian Robert-Tissot, born in 1960, has been exploring language for over thirty years. His words are not just meant to be read: they are painted and shaped until the letter and the surface become one. Font, color, composition—each formal choice contributes to the meaning without ever completely closing it off. An apparent economy of means conceals a meticulous attention to what words do and what they do not say.
