Fabienne Levy opens a second gallery in Geneva. The mission of this space will be to act as an extension of the main gallery simultaneously presenting the same artist. It is on the one hand, to give greater visibility to the work of my artists, and on the other hand to try to bring the cultural world of the two cities closer together.

FABIENNE LEVY is pleased to present, for the opening of this second location, a new exhibition by Vanessa Safavi. The artist works with a variety of materials with a predominance for all types of rubber, often returning to post-minimalist practices. It invites unexpected materials such as silicone, calling on the heritage of “soft sculpture” or the “Antiform” movement, which uses industrial materials in a more sensitive way. Safavi also displays a respect for cultural references dating back to antiquity. By translating ancient techniques and symbols, the artist associates them with her own personal stories. She explores and questions the contemporary identity of the body and its impact on our hyper-organized societies, which has definitely led her to a complex and vulnerable fragility. His new work in bronze and glass underlines, with humor and seriousness, the often trivialized importance of the intimate parts of the body.

Emma and Délia, from the collective Foulles, will present wearing dances as they were clothes, a three-part dance performance connected to Anjesa Dellova’s exhibition. The Foulles collective explores how dance can revive stories, images, and emotions from the past in order to share them in the present. Here, Emma and Délia treat dances like garments: carrying them, unpacking them, and reinventing them, as one would with a wardrobe filled with memories. Their performance weaves together memory and creation, intimate gestures and collective sharing.
